00:00:16I've been documenting my journey
00:00:17of making money on the internet since 2017
00:00:19when I was a broke-ass medical student

00:00:30A lot of them said that the experience
00:00:32of actually making the first dollar,
00:00:33the first $10, the first $100
00:00:34was completely life-changing.
00:00:36So the whole idea behind this journey
00:00:37from zero to $1,000
00:00:38is not that you're suddenly
00:00:39going to get rich off of $1,000.
00:00:41The point of it is to give you the baby steps
00:00:43to teach you the skills
00:00:44of independent income generation
00:00:45from you actually doing it
00:00:47rather than just watching videos about it
00:00:48and hoping for the best.
00:00:49In this video, we're going to break down
00:00:50exactly how to make your first $1,000 online,
00:00:52hopefully over the next 30 days.
00:00:54Even if you've never made money online before
00:00:55and even if you don't have an audience
00:00:57that you can sell stuff to.
00:00:58Now there's lots of different methods
00:01:01for making your first $1,000 on the internet
00:01:02but the one that we like to teach
00:01:04to our students,
00:01:05I think of it as the 1K ladder
00:01:07and it's based on four missions.
00:01:09Mission number one
00:01:09is to make your first $1.
00:01:11Mission number two
00:01:12is to make your first $10.
00:01:14Mission number three
00:01:14is to make your first $100
00:01:16and you can see where this is going.
00:01:17Mission number four
00:01:18is to make your first $1,000.
00:01:20And the reason I like to go
00:01:21in this sort of step-by-step
00:01:22mission-based fashion
00:01:23is because it allows
00:01:24a beginner to the world
00:01:25of entrepreneurship
00:01:26to dip their toes in
00:01:27one small step at a time.
00:01:29Alright, so let's start
00:01:29with mission number one,
00:01:30making your first $1 online.
00:01:32Now the execution of mission number one
00:01:33is really straightforward.
00:01:34All you basically need
00:01:35is a way to accept
00:01:37payments on the internet
00:01:38and you just need to send
00:01:39a link to someone
00:01:40and ask them to support
00:01:41your business for just $1.
00:01:43This is the very first thing
00:01:44we got all of our students
00:01:45to do as part of the 1K challenge.
00:01:47Literally,
00:01:47you just need to sign up
00:01:48for a payment processor
00:01:49and you just need to send
00:01:50a link to your friends
00:01:50being like,
00:01:51hey, will anyone support
00:01:52my entrepreneurship journey?
00:01:53It's just a dollar
00:01:53and some people
00:01:54will pay you money.
00:01:55For example,
00:01:55we've got Marcy who said,
00:01:56today is one of the best days
00:01:57of my life.
00:01:58I didn't think that $1
00:01:58could bring tears to my eyes.
00:02:00It's just mission one for me
00:02:01but it's already changed my life
00:02:02because I will not be
00:02:02the same again.

00:02:04about this being emotional either.
00:02:06The first dollar
00:02:06brought tears to my eyes.
00:02:07And then we've got Luca

00:02:12commitment and proof
00:02:12that I'm on the next move.
00:02:13I'm beyond excited,
00:02:13full of energy

00:02:15These are the sorts of feelings
00:02:16that happen once you make
00:02:17your first dollar on the internet.
00:02:18For me,
00:02:18I made my first dollar
00:02:19on the internet
00:02:19when I was like 12 years old
00:02:21when I did like
00:02:22a freelance web design project
00:02:23for some dude
00:02:24I met over the internet
00:02:25and that completely changed my life
00:02:26and was my gateway drug
00:02:27into entrepreneurship.
00:02:28So how do you actually
00:02:29make your first dollar online?
00:02:30Well, as we talked about,
00:02:30you basically sign up
00:02:31for a payment provider
00:02:32that you can use
00:02:33to send a link
00:02:33to family and friends
00:02:34and you'd ask them
00:02:35to support your business
00:02:35for a dollar.

00:03:08and so you just sign up

00:03:11who are like terrified
00:03:11about the thought
00:03:12of losing money
00:03:12and don't want that
00:03:13like monthly subscription
00:03:14going out of their pocket
00:03:15they sign up to Gumroad
00:03:16and they're okay
00:03:16we're just giving away
00:03:1710% of their transaction volume.
00:03:18In addition to signing up
00:03:20with one of these things
00:03:20you will either need
00:03:21a Stripe account
00:03:22or a PayPal account.
00:03:24Now Stripe is accepted
00:03:25in a bunch of different countries.
00:03:26This is the list of countries
00:03:28that Stripe is accepted in
00:03:29and so that would be
00:03:29my recommendation
00:03:30but if you are not
00:03:31in one of these countries
00:03:32then Stripe is not yet
00:03:33accepted in your payment region
00:03:34and you can probably
00:03:35sign up to PayPal
00:03:36which is accepted
00:03:37in like almost every country
00:03:38on earth.
00:03:38But this is where we get
00:03:39the first hurdle
00:03:40of entrepreneurship.
00:03:41There is some level
00:03:42of friction associated
00:03:43with actually signing up
00:03:45for a merchant account
00:03:46that lets you receive pins.
00:03:48But trust me
00:03:48you want to push through
00:03:49the friction of the process
00:03:51because this is how
00:03:51you get started
00:03:52with making money
00:03:52on the internet.
00:03:53You need a way
00:03:53for people to actually
00:03:54be able to pay you.
00:03:55And the reason
00:03:55when we were doing
00:03:55the 1k challenge
00:03:56we made this
00:03:57the very first mission
00:03:57is because this friction
00:03:59is a gate
00:04:00that holds
00:04:01so many people back.
00:04:02Just literally
00:04:02the logistical path
00:04:03of signing up
00:04:04for an account
00:04:04for Stripe
00:04:05stops people
00:04:06for years
00:04:06for like
00:04:07even thinking
00:04:08about making money
00:04:08on the internet
00:04:08because it seems scary
00:04:10and it seems hard
00:04:10and it's like
00:04:10oh my god
00:04:11do I have to like
00:04:11register a business
00:04:12and stuff?
00:04:12You probably do not
00:04:13have to register a business.
00:04:14In most countries
00:04:14you can probably
00:04:15just make some money
00:04:16on the internet
00:04:16if you really wanted to
00:04:17and then once you get
00:04:18to a certain revenue
00:04:18threshold at that point
00:04:19you think about
00:04:19registering a business.
00:04:21Honestly
00:04:21I would just take
00:04:21your situation
00:04:22ask ChatGPT
00:04:23it'll actually give you
00:04:23very reasonable
00:04:24financial advice on this.
00:04:25So the idea
00:04:26is step number one
00:04:26you sign up
00:04:27for a payment provider.
00:04:28Step number two
00:04:28you sign up
00:04:29for a platform
00:04:29like Stan
00:04:30or Gumroad
00:04:30that lets you
00:04:31sell stuff
00:04:31and you create
00:04:32a product
00:04:32called something
00:04:33like support my business
00:04:34and you price it
00:04:34at one dollar
00:04:35and then you go
00:04:36to your friends
00:04:36and family
00:04:36and you say
00:04:37hey mom
00:04:37hey dad
00:04:38hey spouse
00:04:38this is kind of random
00:04:39but I am dipping
00:04:40my toes
00:04:40into the world
00:04:41of entrepreneurship
00:04:41please can you
00:04:42support my business
00:04:43for one dollar
00:04:44and then they'll
00:04:44be able to pay
00:04:45with Apple Pay
00:04:45or Google Pay
00:04:46or their credit card
00:04:47or whatever
00:04:47and now congratulations
00:04:48you've got a dollar
00:04:49into your account.
00:04:50Now the way
00:04:50we ran this
00:04:50in the 1k challenge
00:04:51is that
00:04:51you had to submit
00:04:53a proof screenshot
00:04:54that you've actually
00:04:55received at least
00:04:56one dollar
00:04:56before we unlocked
00:04:58mission number two
00:04:58which is to make
00:04:59your first ten dollars
00:04:59we sort of did
00:05:00this progressive
00:05:01unlock thing
00:05:01and our students
00:05:02really appreciated
00:05:02having this progressive
00:05:03unlock because it
00:05:04literally forces you
00:05:05to actually take action.
00:05:06Obviously we don't
00:05:07have progressive
00:05:07unlock in this
00:05:08sort of video
00:05:08but if you're
00:05:09actually serious
00:05:09about making
00:05:10your first thousand
00:05:10dollars online
00:05:11and you don't
00:05:11yet have a way
00:05:12of accepting payments
00:05:13and you haven't
00:05:13yet made
00:05:14even a single dollar
00:05:14I really would
00:05:15recommend just
00:05:16pausing the video
00:05:17right now
00:05:17and doing that
00:05:18before you progress
