00:00:00>> Hey, everybody.
00:00:07>> Hi, everyone.
00:00:14>> Hi.
00:00:17>> How's it going?
00:00:23>> I'm excited.
00:00:32>> Well, welcome everybody to our first V0 Power Hour.
00:00:37This is something that we're trying out.
00:00:39We thought it'd be fun to just get on
00:00:41live once a week or once every couple of weeks,
00:00:44and build live with comments from the audience in V0.
00:00:48In the future, hopefully, we'll have some fun guests.
00:00:51But today, we have some members of the Vercel Community Team.
00:00:55I'm Ali. I work on V0.
00:00:58My title, I'm a member of the technical staff.
00:01:00That's what I've been saying lately.
00:01:02>> I did struggle to decide your title.
00:01:05I was like, "She does a lot of everything."
00:01:08>> Caroline, Amy, you want to introduce yourselves?
00:01:12Then I think we're going to have some fun just jamming and prompting.
00:01:15>> Yeah. Do you want to start, Caroline?
00:01:17>> Yeah. I'm happy to. I'm Caroline.
00:01:19I work with Ali on V0 and spend a lot of time with our community,
00:01:23and this is my first live stream.
00:01:25I also joined Vercel a month ago,
00:01:26so I'm really excited.
00:01:27This has been something a lot of the community has been asking for.
00:01:30Ali just said we're doing it weekly,
00:01:32so I think we're doing it weekly.
00:01:33>> Yes. You've probably seen me around already.
00:01:38I'm Amy. I'm on the Community Team here at Vercel as well,
00:01:41and I love doing these live streams.
00:01:43This is definitely not my first one,
00:01:45but I'm really excited for today.
00:01:46>> Yeah. We have a seasoned pro. I love it.
00:01:49Cool. Well, if you're not already logged into the Vercel community,
00:01:54that's going to be the chat that we are looking at.
00:01:57This is an event I think in the Vercel community,
00:02:00you can make sure you're logged in and then you'll be able to post
00:02:03any prompt suggestions or fun ideas that we can build with V0 there.
00:02:08But otherwise, we're just going to be taking
00:02:10suggestions from the community and seeing what V0 can build.
00:02:14Anything I'm forgetting, Amy?
00:02:15>> Just a couple of quick reminders for the chat.
00:02:18Make sure you click "Going" on the event,
00:02:20that way you'll actually be able
00:02:21to take messages instead of just seeing it.
00:02:24Just keep in mind the code of conduct.
00:02:27Basically, be nice to each other.
00:02:29>> Amazing. I love it.
00:02:32Well, I think, Caroline,
00:02:34we have our first prompt that we're going to start with,
00:02:36as an intro for this Power Hour.
00:02:39>> It came from an ambassador.
00:02:40>> Amazing. Well, this prompt
00:02:44that I'm going to start with,
00:02:45let me go ahead and share my screen,
00:02:48and then we can jump in to building with V0.
00:02:52Okie dokie. Great. Can everyone see that?
00:03:01>> Yeah.
00:03:02>> Perfect. This prompt that we're going to start with
00:03:06is create an intro for V0 Power Hour using ASCII shader animations.
00:03:13Make sure to start with the greeting "Hello World."
00:03:15Make the ASCII characters rearrange themselves for each message
00:03:19with sequential animation,
00:03:20keeping each message visible for about three seconds.
00:03:23Keep the message line short.
00:03:25We're going to go ahead and prompt V0 and see what it does.
00:03:30This is a pretty specific prompt. I like it.
00:03:32>> I've been very excited about the Power Hour.
00:03:36>> Amazing. Cool.
00:03:40V0 is thinking, and then it's going to start actually
00:03:43generating what we want it to build.
00:03:46Awesome.
00:03:51>> This is a good reminder that we should have an animation intro.
00:03:54I think maybe if we start doing Power Hour, we got it.
00:03:57>> Yeah, maybe we can use it for the Power Hour.
00:04:00That's so cute. I love that.
00:04:05I do want to do some holiday themed generations.
00:04:08I have my very merry holiday score.
00:04:12>> Did you see that one of the ambassadors
00:04:14shared today a Santa Tracker?
00:04:16>> Oh my gosh. Did they post it on socials?
00:04:18>> It was in Spanish, so I had to figure out how to translate it in English.
00:04:20I don't know where Santa was right now,
00:04:22but we can check that.
00:04:24>> Well, maybe we'll build a Santa Tracker too. That seems fun.
00:04:28V0 is still building.
00:04:33It's telling us what it's doing.
00:04:37Let's see. What are some of the other like,
00:04:42a Santa Tracker, put in the chat if you guys have other ideas for
00:04:46holiday themed prompts that we can put into V0. Let us know.
00:04:51>> I think like an elf performance leaderboard,
00:04:54like the top elves.
00:04:56>> Are they achieving their KPIs?
00:04:59>> Exactly.
00:05:00>> Are the elves competing properly?
00:05:01>> We could have a naughty and nice list,
00:05:04but at Versailles, we could figure out who on
00:05:07the team's on the naughty and nice list.
00:05:08>> Atar is going to shut that down.
00:05:10>> Yeah, I don't think so.
00:05:11>> Maybe we can make it for some fake people.
00:05:13>> We can use fake names. We can use elf names for that too.
00:05:17>> We can just use celebrities.
00:05:18Celebrities, naughty and nice.
00:05:19>> Oh, yes. Naughty and nice is going to be good.
00:05:21>> Not even this is 2025.
00:05:23>> Yeah. Maybe it'll be controversial.
00:05:27>> Oh, we have a question in the chat.
00:05:29They want to know which model we're using right now.
00:05:32>> Oh, that is a good question.
00:05:34>> We are on V0 Pro right now.
00:05:37I probably should have selected a model before I started.
00:05:44It's just on the default.
00:05:46But this problem is very specific.
00:05:48I think that's why it's taking a little bit to build.
00:05:51>> Doing a bit of thinking.
00:05:53>> We got a question too.
00:06:01Is it correct that V0 Max is better for image generation?
00:06:04>> Yes. V0 Max is basically the top model that we have on here.
00:06:09You can see it says it has maximum intelligence for complex work.
00:06:12It's powered by Cloud Opus.
00:06:14That's going to get you the highest quality designs and generations.
00:06:19>> Our Santa Tracker will have to be using V0 Max.
00:06:25>> I'm on my personal account.
00:06:27If I run out of credits,
00:06:29we're going to have to do it for somebody else's.
00:06:31>> Deal.
00:06:33>> Amazing. The anticipation is just growing.
00:06:38I'm like, what is this going to be?
00:06:41>> It's like thinking really hard to line up all the little characters.
00:06:46>> I know. It'll definitely be something amazing.
00:06:50>> I feel like these were always the character things I would see
00:06:53people on Twitter be able to do and spend hours figuring out,
00:06:57how did people spend the time to see where they all lined up?
00:07:00It is cool that you can just do this with V0 now.
00:07:02You don't have to spend the time on the keyboard.
00:07:04>> True. Maybe we'll start with another one while this is building.
00:07:12Not me saying V0.
00:07:15Let me share this tab instead.
00:07:19Do we have any prompts in the chat yet,
00:07:21Caroline, that we can start doing?
00:07:24>> Amy, do you have any from the chat?
00:07:26>> I don't see any in the chat.
00:07:29>> I'm going to try the Santa Tracker.
00:07:32Let's see. I'm going to do this.
00:07:40We're going to build an internal dashboard for Santa's operation.
00:07:45A sleigh tracker, route planner, reindeer, timer,
00:07:51naughty/nice table, and route planner.
00:07:56Let's see. This one is also on V0 Pro.
00:08:02Still building. I feel like one of us should have dressed up as Santa.
00:08:13>> I know. I should have worn a sweater.
00:08:15I'm so jealous that you have one.
00:08:17>> I know.
00:08:18>> I door dashed this from Target yesterday.
00:08:22I found out you can door dash clothing from Target.
00:08:25I didn't have any holiday stuff
00:08:29because I moved across the country and I
00:08:30feel like I just lost a bunch of stuff.
00:08:33I was like, "I need a holiday sweater
00:08:35for tomorrow because we're doing it."
00:08:37You can door dash from Target. Little did I know.
00:08:40>> It's good to know.
00:08:41>> Innovation.
00:08:44>> We just gave a lot for the Santa Tracker to do.
00:08:50When you're building things like this in V0 typically,
00:08:53do you add all your ask at once or do you like
00:08:56to just have this scaffolding and then follow up?
00:08:59In this case, would you have followed up with
00:09:00the reindeer feeder and how do you like to build?
00:09:03>> I like to start by being as specific as possible if I'm
00:09:08building something where I want to get
00:09:09a very accurate preview of exactly what I am looking for.
00:09:13For example, I know our product team,
00:09:16when we have PRDs that we're working on or product updates in mind,
00:09:21will be really specific with what we're prompting V0 with.
00:09:24We actually use a baby V0 template that's been built inside of
00:09:28V0 and we use that in very specific prompts to be able to see what we want to see.
00:09:40>> Yeah.
00:09:40>> This one looks like we almost one-shotted it.
00:09:45We'll see. It's still working.
00:09:49I love that sound. Okay.
00:09:51>> Me too.
00:09:52>> Let's see. We have our preview here.
00:09:56Santa's command center, North Pole operations.
00:09:59This is accurate, yes, five days.
00:10:03V0 knew when Chris says the sleigh tracker.
00:10:08Right now, he's in Norway.
00:10:10>> That makes sense.
00:10:12>> Wow. It's changing the dynamic.
00:10:17>> He's moving quite a lot.
00:10:19>> Oh, my God. Okay.
00:10:22Oh, my gosh. It put this elf performance leaderboard, Caroline.
00:10:26>> That's awesome.
00:10:28>> This is interesting.
00:10:30>> I'm really curious how this turns out.
00:10:33>> This is fun. What happened?
00:10:37>> Reindeer is feeding.
00:10:38>> Oh.
00:10:39>> I feel like this would be really fun for kids.
00:10:42If you could make it a game where you could feed
00:10:44the reindeer throughout the course of the month or something.
00:10:48I feel like there used to be something like that when we were little.
00:10:50>> Oh, my God. It made the naughty and nice list.
00:10:53I hope they're not, obviously.
00:10:55>> Surely, they're not real people.
00:10:56>> I hope nobody else is watching.
00:10:57>> That was fully a joke.
00:10:59We never have a power hour again.
00:11:04>> Okay. I feel like to me,
00:11:06I'm just going to improve on this a little bit.
00:11:09The things that are a little bit confusing to me are some of
00:11:11the colors, naughty and nice to both be red at first glance.
00:11:17I'm wondering if we can do that.
00:11:19I also am wondering if we can make this piece more interactive.
00:11:28We can try to do some reindeer game.
00:11:31Let's see. Change the colors for naughty.
00:11:38Nice and fed/hungry so that they
00:11:45are different enough to not be confused at first glance.
00:11:50Let's see what it does. That's not a very good prompt.
00:11:53Now, let me switch to my other tab.
00:11:58Our other generation is done.
00:12:02This is our first one.
00:12:05V0 says it's created a dynamic ASCI shader
00:12:09animation intro that starts with Hello World.
00:12:12Oh, it does. It's just hard to read.
00:12:14It says, let's go.
00:12:17Let's say, make the text more easily distinguishable
00:12:25from the background and the different animations.
00:12:35All right, let's see.
00:12:39We're back in Santa's tracker.
00:12:42Okay, so it did change the colors here.
00:12:46Nice, naughty.
00:12:48It's much more clear. I love it.
00:12:54>> Super cool.
00:12:56>> All right. Let's go back to this tab.
00:13:03We got a question on X.
00:13:06When is the new V0 coming?
00:13:08You'll have to stick around to find out.
00:13:10Maybe it's a little bit of a holiday surprise. Who knows?
00:13:13It's coming soon. You should sign up for
00:13:15the waitlist if you haven't already yet.
00:13:17It's going to be super cool.
00:13:18Lots of exciting stuff coming.
00:13:20So get ready for that.
00:13:22Okay. This now made the text more distinguishable.
00:13:26>> Cool.
00:13:27>> Do we like the green?
00:13:30>> I feel like if it's going to be V0 Power Hour,
00:13:33maybe this could be the holiday version of our intro.
00:13:38But I feel like we might need a black and white for actual.
00:13:41>> Let's see what it says if I say,
00:13:42give it more holiday vibes.
00:13:46There's like @ symbols.
00:13:51I guess that's cool. It's like the web.
00:13:54>> Yeah, it's like techie stuff.
00:13:57>> Do we have any other prompts?
00:13:59>> Okay.
00:14:00>> We just got one on YouTube.
00:14:04>> Okay.
00:14:05>> You want to go for it, Amy?
00:14:06>> Yeah. Amy, can you read it?
00:14:08>> The prompt is, "Build an app that lets
00:14:11humanitarian workers collect simple ideas,
00:14:14keywords, or reflections throughout the month.
00:14:17When ready, users can generate
00:14:19compassionate community-focused newsletter."
00:14:22>> Nice. We'll do that one in just one second.
00:14:28>> This is what it gave us for holiday vibes.
00:14:30>> It's so pleasant with me.
00:14:32>> I'm into it.
00:14:34>> Somehow, I love the symbol.
00:14:37It's like little confetti.
00:14:38>> Yeah.
00:14:39>> There's snowflakes.
00:14:41>> It's cool.
00:14:42>> It's actually pretty cute.
00:14:44>> In the random sparkle emojis,
00:14:46it decided to pull in.
00:14:47>> Yes, creativity. I love it.
00:14:52>> That's really cool.
00:14:53>> Okay. Let me go to a new V0 page,
00:14:58and then I'm going to do the one that was just requested.
00:15:02Here we go. "Build an app that
00:15:09lets humanitarian workers collect simple ideas,
00:15:11keywords, or reflections throughout the month,
00:15:13and they can generate a compassionate,
00:15:14community-focused newsletter."
00:15:17Let's try this one on V0 Max.
00:15:21>> That's awesome. I actually built
00:15:27something similar when I first started at V0,
00:15:29because I was having all these community conversations
00:15:32and would have random ideas.
00:15:34I was like, "I just need somewhere where a notes page,
00:15:36I could input it and remember all the things,
00:15:39and start to coalesce around what are the themes."
00:15:42I think that's really smart.
00:15:44>> Okay. It is prompting us to install Superbase.
00:15:47Let me go ahead and set that up.
00:15:55>> I do really like this idea.
00:15:57I do something similar for myself,
00:15:59because there's so much going on all the time
00:16:01between community projects that people are sharing,
00:16:05and things that Vercel is building,
00:16:06and things that V0 is building, and things from-
00:16:09>> What do you do, Amy? I feel like you're a pro.
00:16:10I need your tips.
00:16:11>> I need to build something better,
00:16:14because right now it's so manual.
00:16:18It would be great to have something that handles more of
00:16:22the formatting for me because that's where I spend most of the time.
00:16:26>> Yeah. It was cool because I didn't have to
00:16:28specify what type of conversation it was.
00:16:30I could be talking to an ambassador or a user,
00:16:33or just have a random idea,
00:16:35and didn't have to spend time organizing it,
00:16:37and just put it in there,
00:16:38and then it could coalesce around themes.
00:16:40But yeah, it was helpful for that.
00:16:43>> I was using V0.
00:16:47The thing that I think is the most underrated thing on
00:16:49V0 is using V0 for slides.
00:16:52I have completely shifted from using Google Slides or whatever.
00:16:56I use V0 for all of my slides for presentations,
00:16:58because basically I can just describe the outline of what I want,
00:17:02of like, "Okay, I'm giving this presentation on blah, blah, blah."
00:17:06I just gave a presentation on V0 a month or two ago,
00:17:10and I was like, "This is what I want to go over.
00:17:13This is what I want to do."
00:17:14Then I just put all of that into V0 as a single prompt,
00:17:17and it build out the whole deck.
00:17:19Then I could just edit. You edit by prompting,
00:17:22instead of like, I don't know,
00:17:23I'm not skilled at going in and
00:17:25making slides that I manually make look really good.
00:17:28At least for the design aspect,
00:17:30it was much better for me.
00:17:32>> Well, I feel like with the design systems now,
00:17:34it's so easy to have the consistent look,
00:17:36and you don't have to reprompt it all the time.
00:17:38>> Totally. We can show
00:17:40an example of that probably when this one generates.
00:17:44I'm trying to think of a fun generation that we can
00:17:47make using the AI gateway automatic connection.
00:17:54Maybe after this one. Okay, cool.
00:17:57>> How cool.
00:17:58>> This is cool. We actually used
00:18:00our integration with Superbase
00:18:02here because that's what V0 recommended.
00:18:05We connected with Superbase,
00:18:08and then now V0 continues connected,
00:18:11and it built out this app.
00:18:13We have a newsletter app with
00:18:16a database schema for ideas and reflections.
00:18:18We connected Superbase, and then it has created
00:18:20this main app with idea collection and newsletter generation.
00:18:24Let's actually test it.
00:18:27V0 decided to name this Community Voices. I like it.
00:18:31I don't know if that's what this person had in mind.
00:18:33>> I know. If they're still there on YouTube,
00:18:35I'd be curious if they want to add anything else.
00:18:37>> I know. What should we do for a reflection?
00:18:41Caroline, maybe you have a Community reflection.
00:18:43It's not humanitarian, but maybe you have
00:18:45a Community reflection from
00:18:46the Zero Passengers or something else that you've done recently.
00:18:50>> This is a really nice e-mail we got today.
00:18:54An ambassador had ordered the wrong size of their sweatshirt,
00:18:59and if there's some confusion,
00:19:01and I was like, "Oh my gosh, of course,
00:19:02I can send you a new sweatshirt. It's all good."
00:19:05He was like, "This is such a testament
00:19:07of caring about the small details and
00:19:09shows how you care about humans in a community."
00:19:12It was just a good reflection to me of
00:19:14those little moments matter so much.
00:19:17Also, I just had so much gratitude for him showing
00:19:21that gratitude towards me because it was
00:19:22a very easy thing for me to do.
00:19:24>> I love that.
00:19:25>> I'm verbose. I don't know
00:19:27how you want to count from that moment.
00:19:28>> How do I translate this?
00:19:31>> This is the leading voice mode to
00:19:32come into the Community Voices.
00:19:33>> I know. I need to use a whisper.
00:19:35Today, we received a nice note of gratitude from one of
00:19:43our community members for
00:19:46a small favor slash task that be completed.
00:19:54Sending him a new sweatshirt.
00:19:58This is not a humanitarian thing.
00:20:02>> Not humanitarian.
00:20:03>> We sent someone a new sweatshirt.
00:20:04Okay. Save idea.
00:20:06Great. Let's see what happens.
00:20:10We have one idea.
00:20:11Let's put some others. What are nice things, guys?
00:20:19Why is this difficult?
00:20:20Let's say, Christmas, holidays,
00:20:23bought a friend a Santa.
00:20:29>> Also not humanitarian.
00:20:31>> Let's just test this.
00:20:35>> Cool.
00:20:37>> Okay. Awesome.
00:20:38>> It's really cool.
00:20:40>> Yeah. We are bringing our community together.
00:20:44This is the worst.
00:20:46Moments of insight. It literally
00:20:50did just take it and put it directly into it.
00:20:53Maybe we can improve on this a little bit.
00:20:55We can say when you generate the newsletter ideas,
00:21:00try to add something more to
00:21:03the ideas that we put into the capture moment section
00:21:14to make it longer and more interesting and engaging to read.
00:21:26All right. This would be really helpful
00:21:33to you with any internal recaps.
00:21:35I feel like I do a lot of recaps of like,
00:21:37"This is what we did across the month."
00:21:38Again, maybe to your point,
00:21:40they all live in different places,
00:21:41and so this would be cool to just be able to drop it in.
00:21:43>> Yeah. I was actually thinking about this
00:21:45because part of my team runs our startups program,
00:21:49and we've been talking about doing a startups newsletter.
00:21:53>> Yeah.
00:21:53>> I feel like this would be such a good way to
00:21:55just capture everything that's happened in the month,
00:21:58and then do a newsletter at the end of the month.
00:22:00>> Mads, if you're watching, we'll give you this template.
00:22:05>> Let's re-share our ideas.
00:22:15We will call up from the person who suggested this.
00:22:20They keep an e-mail list of their community,
00:22:23and then they want to be notified from
00:22:25the app with the newsletter content.
00:22:28That's interesting.
00:22:30You probably have to set up a couple more
00:22:31integrations to actually build that out.
00:22:34>> Yeah. There would have to be some kind of e-mail setup.
00:22:36I think it's possible, but it might take us a little
00:22:40longer than we have today to get it all done.
00:22:44>> Not me putting in random ideas.
00:22:47Help a friend with their work.
00:22:49Called some elderly neighbors.
00:22:55These are just good. Let's see.
00:22:58Now if we click "Generate",
00:23:00will it give us a more engaging newsletter?
00:23:05AI is crafting our newsletter.
00:23:11>> It's going to be super engaging.
00:23:15>> Okay. Yes. Look at this.
00:23:17Reaching across generation.
00:23:19Several. Okay. Amazing.
00:23:23Let's see. Let's go back.
00:23:31I think we have another prompt.
00:23:35>> We do.
00:23:36>> One. Can you read it, Caroline?
00:23:39>> Yeah. This person from the community wants to create
00:23:43an animated landing page using
00:23:44shaders for a fashion e-commerce site.
00:23:47They will then search the best prices among all the US stores,
00:23:53and then add a waitlist like Google Flights for shopping.
00:23:56I would love this because then you don't have to
00:23:58manually look at all the sales sites
00:24:00and you just get automated.
00:24:01>> Okay. I feel like I need this in my life.
00:24:06>> Yeah.
00:24:06>> Where was this when I was doing all of my holiday shopping?
00:24:09>> I know.
00:24:10>> Yeah. I wish I had this three weeks ago.
00:24:12That would have been great.
00:24:14>> It's what I do for all my flights and then it feels
00:24:17like you're making progress towards getting the flight,
00:24:19but I'm just tracking the prices to see when it goes,
00:24:21so you can do the same thing.
00:24:23>> I'm going to run out of space credits.
00:24:27>> We can also move to mine if you need to.
00:24:29>> No, it's good. It's fine right now.
00:24:30I'm just being dramatic.
00:24:32>> So much holding in this power hour.
00:24:36>> It really is a power hour.
00:24:38Someone was like, "Isn't power hour where you're drinking a shot?"
00:24:42I was like, "We're not drinking shots, we're one-shotting."
00:24:45>> Yeah. Ali, that is good.
00:24:50>> Thank you.
00:24:50>> I did think about that too,
00:24:51but I wasn't sure if anyone else did, so I just didn't play.
00:24:53>> I'm going to be trolled on the internet,
00:24:54but I feel like that was the most dad
00:24:55joke I've ever made in my life.
00:24:58>> Have you tweeted it yet?
00:24:59>> No, I'm not.
00:25:01We prompted V0, we're using V0 Max again,
00:25:08and I installed Superbase because again,
00:25:11V0 prompted me to do that,
00:25:13and then now it's generating design inspiration
00:25:16and seeds that I've connected to Superbase,
00:25:18so it's going to keep going.
00:25:20Now I have everything I need.
00:25:23Good. Love it.
00:25:25>> Okay. While we're doing this,
00:25:30I want to do another one.
00:25:36Oh my God, we've got three different.
00:25:38>> Oh yeah, we've got a bunch.
00:25:39>> We've got a bunch. We have one that's very specific.
00:25:43>> Let's choose one.
00:25:48How about you guys choose one and then read it to
00:25:50me and I'll start prompting.
00:25:54>> I think these might actually be the same,
00:25:58just two parts of the same.
00:26:00>> Yeah, it's broken up into two parts here.
00:26:02>> Yeah.
00:26:03Maybe this is coming from G.
00:26:11Make me ready player one,
00:26:14Pixar grade holiday world with G as Santa live coding gifts.
00:26:23We want G as Santa live coding gifts.
00:26:26It needs to have Disney level futurism
00:26:29and make power hour Christmas cards that G is coding,
00:26:34turn into downloadable four by five aspect ratio cards
00:26:38that have SVG animations.
00:26:41It should be coding one custom card every 15 seconds.
00:26:46Use the Vercel AI gateway in whatever way you decide.
00:26:50Allie that, you do get choice on that.
00:26:52>> I'm going to make zero decide. That's not me.
00:26:54>> Copywriter, strategist, and motion designer,
00:26:57you're 100 percent in control.
00:26:59>> Okay.
00:27:02>> Wow. Let's start there.
00:27:04>> I'm excited for that.
00:27:06>> I don't know.
00:27:07>> This is what it gave us.
00:27:11At first glance, this price alert waitlist section,
00:27:16it seems like it's actually blocking what's behind it.
00:27:20I'm going to use my favorite thing to do,
00:27:22which is screenshot, and drag it over and say this pop-up,
00:27:27it's blocking the images behind it,
00:27:31move it, or reduce the size so that it's
00:27:37not blocking the rest of the site.
00:27:42While I'm doing that,
00:27:44I'm going to copy this prompt that is very specific.
00:27:52I think the person is telling me zero that they're in control.
00:27:57Let's see what this does.
00:27:59If I just copy paste,
00:28:00I am going to fix this.
00:28:03I'm a little scared, but I'm so curious.
00:28:14While that's going.
00:28:20>> It's really interesting to see where it pulls images from.
00:28:23>> The comments are just confirmed.
00:28:25Yes, they mean for V0 to be in control.
00:28:27>> Yes. Perfect. Cool.
00:28:29>> I'm picking up what you're putting down.
00:28:31We did get a new generation of this fashion site.
00:28:36We moved this down here,
00:28:39but now with the background,
00:28:41you really can't see what that is.
00:28:43Actually, I'm going to see if I can fix this.
00:28:47>> Design mode.
00:28:48>> Yes. I want the background.
00:28:57Let's see. What happens if I do this?
00:29:03Yeah. That's ugly.
00:29:07The design people watching are going to be like,
00:29:08what is she doing? I can go through and see
00:29:11the different options.
00:29:15We could get really crazy.
00:29:18>> It's very Christmasy.
00:29:20>> What do we like?
00:29:22>> You're eating Christmas food.
00:29:24>> We're going to go with this for now,
00:29:35and I'm going to click "Save".
00:29:37This is the top nav bar that's scrolling with me.
00:29:43I feel like it doesn't look very pretty,
00:29:47but it is better than before.
00:29:49You can actually see it.
00:29:50>> Yeah.
00:29:51>> Now, I'm going to go back to
00:29:54the chat and let's go back to our original prompt.
00:29:58They wanted a weightless feature
00:30:01like Google Flights for shopping.
00:30:02I think actually if I type in, this will be the product that I want.
00:30:10I want the Nike Air market price, 150.
00:30:17That seems like way too much.
00:30:18Sneakers join waitlist.
00:30:21Cool. Because I've connected to a base,
00:30:26but now see this,
00:30:27the end state once I submit to the waitlist,
00:30:31it's also not great.
00:30:34Let's see if I can change that.
00:30:37Yeah. That's my favorite thing about design mode, easy tweaks.
00:30:47I didn't need to prompt it. I didn't know exactly what to say.
00:30:50>> It saves me so much time too,
00:30:53especially on little text edits of just going straight in. It's awesome.
00:30:58>> I feel like members of my team are going to be like,
00:31:01"This is the ugliest thing I've ever seen,
00:31:02Ali. Why did you do that?"
00:31:04>> A waste of using design mode.
00:31:08>> What were you going to say, Amy?
00:31:11>> I was just going to say, yeah.
00:31:12It's like sometimes you don't know what colors you want it to be,
00:31:15so it's nice to just quickly like,
00:31:17what background color do I want?
00:31:19What text do I want?
00:31:21>> I've gone back to this very
00:31:25specific Ready Player One Pixar grade holiday world with Guillermo as Santa.
00:31:31It did put his name and everything here,
00:31:37but I'm wondering if the person wanted the picture.
00:31:39Also, there's an error.
00:31:41>> I was assuming they wanted a character picture as Santa.
00:31:49But again, if they're still listening,
00:31:52they can chime in and give us some ideas.
00:31:54Because maybe, but this is not an image yet,
00:31:58so I actually can't edit it.
00:32:00I'm going to say,
00:32:03I don't want that. I want it to, what did they say?
00:32:11I want Guillermo to actually get a picture of him.
00:32:21I am attaching one, let's see.
00:32:25I think I have a picture.
00:32:32Yes. I want Guillermo Santa to actually get a picture of him.
00:32:49I'm attaching one. I'm going to try this,
00:32:52but I'm also noticing that
00:32:53the card compiler that's down here is also not working.
00:32:59>> It looks like the initializing card for installing a bit.
00:33:05>> I think also probably this person wanted more of a game,
00:33:15like a world, and this has built a dashboard.
00:33:20>> Yeah.
00:33:22>> There we go. We got the picture and there's Santa.
00:33:30Maybe, let's see, prompt edit.
00:33:38Give him a Santa hat.
00:33:45>> [inaudible]
00:33:53>> I'm waiting.
00:33:55Okay, so many options.
00:34:05Which one do we like?
00:34:07I'm liking this left.
00:34:09>> Yeah, more understated.
00:34:12>> Okay. We have Santa G.
00:34:16Now, we're going to go back and try to fix this other piece.
00:34:25Actually, I can just do this.
00:34:33It gave me an error that was coming up
00:34:35of not being able to produce this card.
00:34:38I actually just clicked "Fix with V0", which is free.
00:34:41If you use Fix with V0, it's not going to charge you anything.
00:34:43It's not going to use your credits.
00:34:45It's going to continue coming up until it's actually fixed.
00:34:49While we're doing that,
00:34:52let's see if there's another one.
00:34:55>> Yeah, we just got another one as well.
00:34:58>> I have so many V0 tabs open.
00:35:00I'm ready to go.
00:35:01>> Can you handle it? Can you handle another one?
00:35:03>> I can handle it. Can I handle it? We'll see.
00:35:06>> Yeah, we can do it. This one says,
00:35:09"Build an inventory management app for a food bank charity to use."
00:35:12This is cool. Once the ability to be able to scan products,
00:35:16log inventory, and create orders
00:35:17where you can assign it to someone in need.
00:35:20I think they would have a customer account as well. That's cool.
00:35:25>> All right.
00:35:26>> I wonder if we could also add time of maybe in the prompt,
00:35:30like add time of requests and
00:35:33anticipated pickup so they could track that way.
00:35:37>> I'm actually going to test out enhanced prompt.
00:35:40>> Yeah, probably stronger than Caroline's enhancements.
00:35:44>> Actually, no. I just wanted to see what it does.
00:35:49Okay. Now, let's change the prompts.
00:35:51Now, we use the enhanced prompt tool and it says,
00:35:54"Design a comprehensive inventory management application
00:35:57tailored for food bank charities,
00:35:58focusing on functionality such as product scanning,
00:36:01detailed inventory logging, and the creation
00:36:03of orders that can be assigned to individuals in need.
00:36:05The system should support customer account management,
00:36:07allowing users to register and track their orders,
00:36:10include features for barcode or
00:36:11QR code integration for products getting wow,
00:36:14real-time inventory updates to reflect stock levels accurately,
00:36:17and intuitive interface for creating and managing orders.
00:36:20Ensure the application addresses
00:36:21needs for secure customer data handling,
00:36:23easy navigation, and scalability for future additions,
00:36:26all within a responsive design
00:36:28suitable for both desktop and mobile usage.
00:36:30Emphasize user roles and permissions for staff and
00:36:32volunteers and consider reporting capabilities
00:36:34for inventory and order analytics.
00:36:36Wow. That is really good.
00:36:42Let's see. We're on B0Max again.
00:36:47I'm going to go back.
00:36:49>> Was the Santa G World game on Max or Pro?
00:36:54>> It's on Max.
00:36:56>> Max.
00:36:56>> Okay, cool. It actually did.
00:36:59Let's see. But the cards,
00:37:02I actually can't review or download.
00:37:07I almost said please fix.
00:37:18It's embarrassing the amount of times that I actually do say
00:37:20that for the memes but also intense work.
00:37:25Now it actually is generating.
00:37:27It's generating Merry Christmas,
00:37:29warm wishes, cards, but I
00:37:30just can't click on them and preview them.
00:37:32But it does seem to be following that every
00:37:3415 seconds because it has the timer up here.
00:37:38In another second, yeah,
00:37:40another one is generated.
00:37:42They don't look like the most unique cards ever,
00:37:45so maybe that will be our next contribution.
00:37:49But we'll see.
00:37:53I'm back on our Food Bank one and I'm going to install
00:38:00SupaBase. I need to upgrade my plan.
00:38:10Caroline, we might have to put this over to you.
00:38:12>> Yeah, we do.
00:38:13>> Let's see. This one is still building.
00:38:20Actually, while we're doing this,
00:38:23I'm going to fix several issues.
00:38:34No, you haven't.
00:38:37>> Yeah, the chat is saying it looks like the cards
00:38:42aren't scaling to their container.
00:38:44I'm kind of off that there.
00:38:51All right. Let's say that
00:38:55the cards aren't scaling to their container.
00:39:18Let's see what happens. Great.
00:39:22We have about five minutes left.
00:39:26We got one that I really want to try in the chat. Let's see.
00:39:31We got one that says, "Let's build something like
00:39:36Spotify wrapped but for V0 2025."
00:39:39It's funny you mentioned that.
00:39:42>> Interesting.
00:39:45>> Let's build a year recap in V0,
00:39:54similar to Spotify wrapped,
00:39:56but for my V0 usage and stats for the year.
00:40:02You can use mock data for now,
00:40:06but generate, what do we think guys?
00:40:09A clean, black and white, vercel vibes design.
00:40:17>> Yeah.
00:40:17>> Make it festive.
00:40:21>> Maybe optimize.
00:40:23Could you optimize for social sharing?
00:40:25So people can take a screenshot.
00:40:28>> Let's try prompt news.
00:40:37Design a comprehensive year recap feature
00:40:39in V0 that resembles
00:40:41Spotify wrapped but is tailored for showcasing
00:40:42my V0 usage statistics for the year.
00:40:45Use mock data to illustrate the concept.
00:40:47Great. Let's try this.
00:40:50Then I want to add
00:40:54an AI chatbot or something where I can
00:40:56ask questions about the data.
00:40:59>> That would be really cool.
00:41:08>> Let's see.
00:41:11While we're doing this, I'm going to check
00:41:17on our Pixar Holiday World.
00:41:21Nope, still not working.
00:41:29Clearly, I'm not prompting it correctly.
00:41:34I don't know the trick with these cards.
00:41:37Everything else is working.
00:41:39>> Everything else is working.
00:41:40We have G Santa up here.
00:41:42Let's see if I do.
00:41:46This is what the cards look like.
00:41:55People are truly, this is so vulnerable.
00:41:58People are truly saying hi.
00:42:00>> That's also what I say.
00:42:02I'm like, this is what they look like.
00:42:03>> This is not how they should look.
00:42:06>> If we have any pros in the chat, let me know.
00:42:10If you're being an idiot,
00:42:12please stop me while I'm ahead.
00:42:16>> I wonder though, if we did,
00:42:22I don't think someone can
00:42:24send a screenshot in the chat,
00:42:25but it would be helpful if we pad a screenshot of
00:42:27what we wanted the cards to look like to add there.
00:42:31>> I'm actually very excited about this V0 recap.
00:42:37>> Me too, Natalie.
00:42:38>> It was quite enhanced though,
00:42:40so it might take a bit of time because
00:42:41we are using V0 Max for this.
00:42:43I want the best generation possible.
00:42:45>> I was calculating at the end of
00:42:47the balance is elegance with festivity.
00:42:50>> I didn't even see that part.
00:42:53>> Yeah.
00:42:54>> V0 so-called the Twitter, I don't know.
00:42:58All right, let's see.
00:43:07I think this will be our last generation before we log off.
00:43:11But if your idea didn't get prompted,
00:43:13please come prepared for next time with your ideas.
00:43:17Okay, V0 wrapped, it's still working,
00:43:20but I'm liking what I'm seeing.
00:43:22>> Also, if anyone has any prompts
00:43:24that they want in the meantime,
00:43:26DM Ali in your eye
00:43:29because we could start loading them up for the next Power Hour.
00:43:32>> Okay. This is dope,
00:43:35but it does think it's 2020.
00:43:37>> Wow, time's hard, numbers.
00:43:40>> Time is hard.
00:43:42>> I like the animation though.
00:43:44>> Yeah, it's so cute, the little stars.
00:43:46Okay, and all the snowflakes.

00:44:13>> Yeah, that's cool.
00:44:15Nice, 156 products.
00:44:19Wow, the lines of code is pretty dope.
00:44:21Again, this is mock data, it's not my actual data,
00:44:23but it would be very cool to be able to generate this.
00:44:25>> I feel much more.
00:44:26>> We can build on it the next user power hour.
00:44:30>> Yeah.
00:44:31>> Interesting, the text stack run down,
00:44:3668 percent Next.js. Love it.
00:44:40>> Oh, that's cool.
00:44:43>> Three and a half, 42 hours.
00:44:46>> Where you also see time saved,
00:44:49of how much time easier saved you in development.
00:44:52>> That would be cool, especially if you're
00:44:53a developer and you're using it a ton.
00:44:55>> Yeah.
00:44:56>> Okay.
00:44:57>> Night owl.
00:44:58>> Early adopter, night owl,
00:45:00most active at 2 AM, definitely not true.
00:45:02>> I hope that's not true.
00:45:04>> I am a grandma. Okay, prolific creator.
00:45:07This is cute, top three percent.
00:45:09>> Super cool.
00:45:10>> Oh yeah, that's fun.
00:45:12Oh, and then look, I did the shareable.
00:45:14>> Nice.
00:45:14>> Can I actually download it?
00:45:16I can. Wow.
00:45:18>> That's so cool.
00:45:19>> That's awesome. Okay, well,
00:45:21I feel like that's the perfect place to park it.
00:45:24>> I love it.
00:45:25>> Wow. The time passed by so fast.
00:45:28>> We built a lot.
00:45:29>> I know. I see why you could spend 300 plus hours.
00:45:33Amazing. Okay, well, cool.
00:45:37Well, thank you to everybody for
00:45:38joining us for this first experiment.
00:45:40Hopefully, you had some fun.
00:45:42We're hoping in the future to bring on
00:45:44some guests and actually let you guys prompt.
00:45:45You're probably much better than I am,
00:45:47so that's welcome.
00:45:49But yeah, thank you to everybody who submitted
00:45:51a prompt and we'll continue doing these.
00:45:54Let us know what you thought of this feedback,
00:45:55but excited to do many more of
00:45:57these zero power hours in the new year.
00:46:00Amazing. Okay, thanks again.
00:46:04>> Bye.

Timeline

Introduction and Setup

The team introduces the first V0 Power Hour, a weekly live stream where they build projects using V0 based on audience suggestions. Ali (member of technical staff), Caroline (community team, one month at Vercel), and Amy (seasoned community team member) explain the format. They direct viewers to log into the Vercel community platform to submit prompt ideas and participate in chat. The team emphasizes this is an experimental format where they'll take live suggestions and potentially feature guests in future episodes. They prepare to tackle their first prompt about creating an ASCII shader animation intro for the Power Hour itself.

ASCII Animation and Holiday Planning

The team submits a detailed prompt from an ambassador to create an intro using ASCII shader animations starting with 'Hello World' and sequential message transitions. While V0 processes this complex request, they brainstorm holiday-themed project ideas including a Santa Tracker, elf performance leaderboard, and naughty/nice lists. Someone asks about which model they're using, and Ali explains they're on V0 Pro by default, while V0 Max (powered by Claude Opus) delivers the highest quality for complex work and image generation. The team discusses how ASCII art used to require hours of manual keyboard work but can now be generated instantly with V0.

Building Santa's Command Center

Ali prompts V0 to build an internal dashboard for Santa's operations including a sleigh tracker, route planner, reindeer timer, and naughty/nice table. The team discusses prompting strategy, with Ali explaining she prefers being specific upfront when building exact visions, noting their product team uses specific prompts and baby V0 templates for product requirement documents. V0 successfully generates Santa's Command Center showing Norway as Santa's current location with dynamic movement, an elf performance leaderboard, reindeer feeding status, and the requested naughty/nice list. Ali then refines the design by requesting color changes to make 'naughty,' 'nice,' 'fed,' and 'hungry' states more visually distinguishable.

Humanitarian Newsletter Builder

The team tackles a YouTube viewer's request to build an app for humanitarian workers to collect ideas, keywords, and reflections throughout the month and generate compassionate community-focused newsletters. V0 prompts them to install Supabase for database functionality, which they connect. The generated 'Community Voices' app includes idea collection and newsletter generation features. Caroline shares her similar use case for tracking community conversations and identifying themes. They test the system with sample reflections about community gratitude and holiday acts of kindness. When the initial newsletter generation simply copies their input verbatim, they prompt V0 to enhance and expand the ideas into more engaging content, which successfully produces a more polished newsletter with sections like 'Reaching Across Generations.'

Fashion E-commerce Price Tracker

A community member requests an animated landing page for a fashion e-commerce site that searches best prices across US stores with a Google Flights-style waitlist feature. Ali uses V0 Max and connects to Supabase for this generation. The initial result creates a fashion site with a price alert waitlist popup, but it blocks the background content. Ali demonstrates using screenshot feedback by dragging an image to V0 to identify the problematic popup placement. She then uses design mode to quickly adjust the background opacity and styling without prompting, showing how design mode saves time on visual tweaks. The team successfully implements a waitlist feature where users can add products like Nike Air sneakers and join alerts for price drops.

Ready Player One Holiday World Challenge

The team receives an extremely detailed prompt requesting a 'Ready Player One, Pixar-grade holiday world' with Vercel's Guillermo as Santa live-coding gifts, generating downloadable 4x5 SVG animated Christmas cards every 15 seconds using Vercel AI Gateway. V0 generates a dashboard but the team notes it's more administrative than the immersive game world envisioned. Ali uploads a photo of Guillermo and uses prompt editing to add a Santa hat, selecting from multiple generated options. The card generation feature encounters errors with scaling issues (cards not fitting their container), which Ali attempts to debug using the 'Fix with V0' feature. While the 15-second timer works and cards generate with messages like 'Merry Christmas' and 'Warm Wishes,' the preview and download functionality remains problematic despite multiple fix attempts.

Food Bank Inventory Management System

A viewer requests an inventory management app for food bank charities with product scanning, inventory logging, and order creation features assignable to people in need with customer accounts. Ali demonstrates the 'enhanced prompt' feature, which transforms the simple request into a comprehensive technical specification mentioning barcode/QR code integration, real-time inventory updates, secure customer data handling, user roles and permissions for staff and volunteers, reporting capabilities, and responsive design for desktop and mobile. Caroline suggests adding time tracking for requests and anticipated pickup times. This section showcases how V0's prompt enhancement can add professional detail and technical considerations that users might not think to specify, creating more robust application specifications.

V0 Wrapped Year-End Recap

For the final demo, the team builds a 'V0 Wrapped' feature similar to Spotify Wrapped showing year-end V0 usage statistics. Using enhanced prompting and V0 Max for optimal quality, they request a festive black-and-white Vercel-style design optimized for social sharing. The generated recap displays mock data including 2,847 prompts sent, 8 prompts per day average, 156 products created, and a tech stack breakdown showing 68% Next.js usage. It includes playful badges like 'Night Owl' (most active at 2 AM) and 'Prolific Creator' (top 3% of users), with snowflake animations throughout. The design successfully includes a downloadable shareable version for social media. The team wraps up the inaugural Power Hour, thanking participants and promising future episodes with guest appearances and more community involvement.
